Oral Surgery

Extractions

Advancements in dentistry have enabled patients to restore and keep their teeth healthy for their entire life. There are, however, some occasions when a tooth may need to be removed (also known as an extraction). A tooth may need to be extracted if the following occurs:
  • Severe decay
  • Advanced periodontal disease
  • Infection or abscess
  • Orthodontic correction
  • Malpositioned teeth
  • Fractured teeth or roots
  • Impacted teeth

After careful examination and treatment, the dentist may advise to have a tooth extracted. Before a tooth is removed, an x-ray is taken in order to understand the shape and position of the tooth and surrounding bone. Based on the degree of difficulty, we may refer you to a specialist called an oral surgeon. A certain amount of pain and discomfort is to be expected following an extraction. The pain is usually managed with a painkiller and ice packs applied to the face for 15 minutes at a time. After a routine extraction, discomfort should lessen within three days to two weeks.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

A Lasting Solution for Missing Teeth

Dental implants provide a strong, stable, and natural-looking solution for replacing missing teeth. These titanium posts are surgically placed into the jawbone, fusing with the bone to create a secure foundation for replacement teeth.

Benefits of Dental Implants:

  • Durability: Long-lasting and highly durable.
  • Natural Appearance: Restores your smile’s natural look and feel.
  • Improved Speech: Enhances speech clarity and pronunciation.
  • Enhanced Eating: Allows you to enjoy a wider range of foods.
  • Boosted Self-Confidence: Improves your self-esteem and quality of life.

If you’re missing teeth, dental implants may be the right choice for you. Schedule a consultation with our team to learn more.
